The Temple of the Emerald Buddha or Wat Phra

Buddha, the most important Buddha Image in Siam
(Thailand).
The
Emerald Buddha is enshrined on the golden traditional
style throne made of gilded-carved wood; know
as Busabok, in the Bot. The Emerald Buddha is
carved from green stone. He was first found
in the North of Thailand around 15 century.
Then he was transferred to several places including
Lao. He was there for 226 years. Later on he
was brought back to Siam (Thailand) around 18
century by King Rama I.
The Temple is enclosed by walls on four sides.
The inner wall form a gallery for mural painting
depicting the story of Ramakian, love story
and war between the humans and giants.
The

the reign of King Rama III.
